In Memory of Artist Lewis Hizer
May 8, 1929 - May 30, 2017

Longtime Northside Member, Lewis Hizer, passed away May 30th, 2017. Our condolences to Gerry Hizer and all of the Hizer family and friends. Lewis will be sorely missed by his fellow Northside members.

     Artist Lewis Hizer was born in Lemay, Missouri on May 8, 1929, and was the son of Lewis Alfred and Grace Alma (Lowery) Hizer. He graduated from Hancock Senior High School in Lemay,Mo., and later became a member of the National Guard. He spent his entire adult professional career as a lithographer, working in various studios throughout the St. Louis area, retiring in 1993 from Lithocraft Studios, Inc., in St. Charles, Mo. He was a member of the Graphic Communications Conference-International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and was active in the Northside Art Association in Hazelwood, Mo.

Lew married Geraldine Parker of Jerseyville on Oct. 3, 1953. Together, ​Lewis & Gerri shared nearly 53 years together and were blessed with 7 children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to Northside Art Association.
